What should I pay attention to after a tooth extraction?

1. Diet after tooth extraction

Drink water for two hours after tooth extraction, eat semi-liquid or liquid food such as thin noodles or porridge, etc., do not eat too hard, hot or cold food, and do not smoke or drink. During the period to ensure adequate sleep, pay more attention to rest. Use mouthwash after each meal and before going to bed, put it in your mouth for 30 seconds and then spit it out, it can prevent bacterial infection. Strictly follow the doctor’s instructions and do not increase or decrease it on your own. Eat more vegetables and fruits, which can promote wound healing.

2. Bleeding after tooth extraction

Bleeding is inevitable after tooth extraction. After the gums on both sides are sutured, it needs to be compressed for about 10 minutes. The sponge is placed on the upper part of the socket, and then the gauze roll is used for compression. Usually, local anesthesia is applied to remove the inflammatory granulation tissue and blood clots in the socket, and then medical sand bars are placed, and then taken out after a week. After several times, the granulation tissue can slowly grow and heal. .

3. Pain after tooth extraction

After tooth extraction, clean the wound and place hemostatic cotton to suture, which can prevent bleeding and speed up wound healing. Bite the gauze tightly at the wound for 40 minutes to reduce the frequency of speaking and prevent bleeding. Do not gargle vigorously, otherwise it will cause the wound to tear. It can only be relieved by ice compress within 24 hours after hemostasis, which can prevent the swelling of the wound, remove the stitches after a week, drink more juice, and avoid smoking and drinking.

4. Problems with brushing after tooth extraction

After tooth extraction, the wound has not fully healed, and local fibroblasts will extend to the blood clot and make the blood clot firm and strong. Do not rinse your mouth or brush your teeth for 24 hours after a tooth extraction. Rinsing your mouth and brushing your teeth too early will rinse out the blood clots, cause the teeth to bleed again, and even prolong the healing time of the wound, resulting in unbearable local pain.
