Fan-favorite new Norwegian singer Kyle Allesandro has undergone emergency surgery to remove his wisdom teeth after rehearsals in Basel, Switzerland. Mads Tørklep, head of the Norwegian delegation, said Allesandro was in pain during rehearsals.
“He could barely open his mouth this morning and had to take strong painkillers to complete the examination.” Allesandro started to feel pain on Monday and it got worse before the first rehearsal. He said: “I didn’t think much of it and thought the pain would go away after a few days, but since then it has become worse and worse until today.”
“We had our first rehearsal of the day at the arena and everything went really well.”
“After the rehearsal, I started to feel a lot of pain again so we made an emergency appointment with the dentist to have my tooth removed.”
Allesandro has been asked to rest until Wednesday and all activities have been cancelled to ensure he recovers smoothly. According to Thorklepp, the original plan had an intense show, including a full day of rehearsals and two three-hour international press conferences on Monday and Tuesday.
“We have to look at what we are doing. After wisdom teeth are removed, the physical condition is usually bad, so it is difficult for us to carry out the planned activities,” he said.
“We have to stick with it now that he is healthy and ready to sing.”
In the absence of Alessandro, the Norwegian team will continue to rehearse. Everyone at Aussievision wishes Kyle a speedy recovery.
