Prodia Dental, a brand of Abrasive Technology LLC, creator and manufacturer of the Two Striper, now introduces the Z Series of specialty instruments, designed specifically for working with zirconia and other ultra-hard materials.
The Z Series instruments offer a high-tech solution to one of the most time-consuming and labor-intensive challenges facing dentists today – removing zirconia crowns. They also excel in crown shaping and endodontic treatments.
Leading the Z Series line is the ZXtreme, our most innovative bur designed for aggressive cutting during large crown removals. A single ZXtreme bur can complete a crown removal four times faster than competing products.
This superior performance is the result of a new advanced manufacturing process that optimizes the alignment of the diamond crystals, ensuring faster, more consistent cutting performance.
This innovative technology enables the instruments to withstand the intense impact between the diamond crystals and the zirconia. It also significantly reduces noise and vibration, resulting in a smoother experience for dentists and patients.
The final two products in the Z Series line are the ZF and ZM tools for fine and medium adjustments. The ZF is best suited for light cutting and final surface finishing, while the ZM is best suited for medium cutting and adjustments prior to the ZF final step.
“We created a truly revolutionary bur designed to excel at zirconia, especially when it comes to crown removal – and that’s exactly what the Z Series burs do,” said Brandon Roby, Vice President and General Manager of Abrasive Technology Dental. “With just one bur, dentists can efficiently remove zirconia crowns, saving valuable time and increasing comfort for both dentists and patients.”
Daniel Ward, D.D., noted that removing zirconia crowns with other brands of instruments can require multiple burs. Praising the superior performance of the ZXtreme burs, he said, “I’ve only used one ZXtreme bur to cut a zirconia crown. That’s a first!”
All Prodia Dental instruments, including the Z Series, are manufactured and shipped directly from our facility in the United States.
