Dentsply Sirona, the world’s largest diversified manufacturer of professional dental products and technologies, is proud to support the FDI Dental Sustainability Summit 2025. The Summit will be held virtually on June 5-6 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. ET / 4:00 to 5:30 a.m. CET.
The Summit will bring together dental professionals from around the world to explore practical solutions for a more sustainable future for the dental industry.
In addition, the Summit will mark the launch of FDI’s second free Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), “Addressing Common Challenges in Sustainable Dentistry”.
Registration for the virtual Summit is free and Dentsply Sirona invites dental professionals, students and industry stakeholders from around the world to join in exploring the latest insights and tools in sustainable dentistry. Register here.
As a founding member of the FDI initiative “Sustainability in Dentistry”, Dentsply Sirona has been advocating for more sustainable dental practices for many years.
The company is proud of the progress made to date and is excited about the opportunity to showcase its commitment and actions at the Summit. Dentsply Sirona invites all Summit attendees to visit its virtual booth, explore sustainability resources, and learn how to benefit from the company’s sustainability program, “Beyond: Acting for a Better World.”
In addition, Dr. Rainer Seemann, Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer at Dentsply Sirona, will participate in a live Q&A session to share actionable insights on sustainable practices in dentistry.
Following the success of the first MOOC, launched in December 2023, the second course, “Addressing Common Challenges in Sustainable Dentistry,” will move from theory to practice, guiding learners on how to implement it. The course will initially be available in English, with other languages to follow.
Tony Johnson, Senior Vice President, Chief Supply Chain Officer and Executive Sponsor of ESG at Dentsply Sirona, said: “As co-founders of the FDI initiative ‘Sustainability in Dentistry’, we are proud to support this summit and help promote the second sustainability MOOC, as both courses empower dental professionals to learn, connect and take meaningful action in their practice.
We strongly encourage everyone in the dental community – from dentists to dental nurses, dental hygienists and students – to sign up for the summit and explore this new course. Through shared learning and shared commitment, we can truly drive lasting change in our industry.”
Dentsply Sirona, recently named one of Newsweek’s ‘Greenest Companies in America 2025’, is also sponsoring the FDI Ambassador of Sustainability Award for the second consecutive year.
Offered to students who have completed their first or second MOOC, the award recognises individuals who have made an outstanding commitment to sustainability and outline how they plan to promote environmentally friendly practices within their own dental practice or through education and advocacy.
Two winners will be selected in December 2025 and will each receive a cash prize of CHF 500. Applications close on December 1 and can be accessed here.
“We are sincerely grateful to Dentsply Sirona – they are a true driver of sustainability in our industry. Working with such a progressive partner enables us to deliver high-quality educational content to dental professionals around the world,” said Dr. Greg Chadwick, President of FDI World Dental Federation. “With their support, the Sustainability MOOC series is growing in audience and inspiring real and effective change in our industry.”
Dentsply Sirona’s partnership with FDI is part of the company’s broader sustainability strategy, Beyond: Acting for a Better World, which is committed to improving access to oral health worldwide, minimizing environmental impact, and fostering an inclusive dental community.
The company also offers free, online and on-demand sustainability education courses to support dental professionals in building more sustainable practices.
