Today, Delta Dental Institute released its 2024 Community Impact Report, highlighting its more than $119 million in investments to improve oral health in all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico.
These efforts have impacted more than 15 million lives, solidifying Delta Dental’s position as the nation’s largest oral health philanthropy.
Delta Dental’s community impact investments focus on closing oral health disparities for seniors, veterans, and rural communities, while also strengthening oral health education for children.
These investments bring Delta Dental’s total community contributions over the past 15 years to more than $2.3 billion, underscoring our long-standing mission to advance oral and overall health.
“Addressing complex oral and overall health challenges requires more than just financial investment; it requires a deep understanding of the community and effective partnerships,” said James W. Hutchison, president and CEO of the Delta Dental Plans Association.
“As the nation’s largest oral health charity, Delta Dental is honored to partner with organizations to expand access, inspire the next generation of oral health workers, and improve health in communities across the country.
And because we live and work every day in the communities we serve, we are able to listen to people’s real needs and ensure our community impact investments deliver results.”
“By investing in programs that expand oral health care access for veterans, seniors, and rural populations, we are supporting the overall well-being of our communities,” said Dr. Joseph Diehl, Chief Dental Officer of the Delta Dental Plan Association and Scientific Director of the Delta Dental Institute.
“We know that regular brushing, flossing, and regular dental exams can have a positive impact on many chronic conditions, such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes. We are proud to provide oral health care to millions of Americans each year through our community investments.”
