Dental professionals across the country are invited to join the 2025 Share Your Smile campaign. Created by America’s Tooth Fairy, the campaign aims to raise public awareness of the importance of oral health and remove barriers that prevent millions of people from getting the dental care they need.
During Oral Health Month, Share Your Smile will provide free educational materials and advocacy tools to healthcare providers, educators and community organizations. For the third consecutive year, the campaign is sponsored exclusively by Sun Life Dental, which includes DentaQuest, the nation’s largest Medicaid dental benefit administrator.
Sun Life Dental serves 35 million members nationwide and provides direct patient care support through a growing network of dental offices in underserved communities across the country.
Launched in 2023, Share Your Smile has grown into a global movement. Last year alone, more than 200 oral health advocates used these resources to educate more than 105,000 children and their caregivers in 44 states and eight other countries.
“Dental professionals play a critical role in helping families understand the importance of oral health and how disparities impact millions of children,” said Jill Malmgren, Executive Director of the Tooth Fairy of America.
The Share Your Smile campaign makes it easy for dental providers and advocates to share this message, sparking interest in dental careers among teens and empowering them to be part of the solution,” said Jill Malmgren, Executive Director of the Tooth Fairy of America.
According to the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), more than 57 million people in the U.S. live in areas with a lack of dental providers.
These disparities particularly impact people of color, those living in rural or remote areas, Native communities, immigrant families, and individuals with special health care needs.
The Share Your Smile campaign offers:
Free, downloadable educational materials for students and families
Social media toolkits with pre-written oral health advocacy posts and images
Resources highlighting dental career paths to inspire the next generation of dental providers
A kid-friendly joke contest for kids ages 12 and under that encourages kids to participate and share smiles in a fun way
Starting this June 1 Since launching on May 24, participants have pledged to support more than 108,000 children and their caregivers.
Sun Life Dental is committed to expanding access to dental care, especially in communities that need it most,” said David Healy, president of Sun Life US Dental, which owns DentaQuest. “We are honored to continue supporting the American Tooth Fairy and Share Your Smile to help people improve their oral and overall health.”
