The Kwai Chung Enforcement Department received intelligence earlier that an unlicensed dentist was operating in a commercial building in Kwai Chung. After further investigation, the Enforcement Department and the Department of Health took a joint enforcement action this afternoon. The Enforcement Department sent a police officer to disguise as a customer and finally found a shop providing illegal teeth whitening services. A 24-year-old local man surnamed Liu was arrested in the unit. She was suspected of “registering and practicing as a dentist.”
After investigation, the Enforcement Department confirmed that the woman was not a registered dentist. In addition to providing illegal teeth whitening services, the unit also provides facial mask beauty. The Enforcement Department believes that the unit has been in the tax department for about half a year. During the operation, the Enforcement Department seized dental appliances, instruments and bleaching agents. The woman has been released on bail and has been seized by the tax department. She must report to the Enforcement Department in mid-May.
