EPA regulations and CDC guidelines require dental offices to use water that meets established safe drinking water standards during routine dental care. R2A Labs testing, the “gold standard” for determining water safety, is now available with Early Notification.
This new premium feature is now included with all Sterisil R2A plumbing tests at no additional cost. Currently, R2A tests provide results in 5-7 days, leaving dental offices waiting and without the ability to determine if the water in the dental chair may be unsafe.
Sterisil R2A features FASTRead, which allows dental offices to be notified immediately if a water sample exceeds safe water thresholds within 24 hours* of testing.
This innovation is supported by recent research showing that the majority of water samples submitted to R2A Labs that do not meet safety standards fail quickly, often within the first 24 hours.
“These test results are ‘rapid test failures,’ so instead of waiting 5-7 days, we’ve added an early detection step and are providing a ‘rapid read’ on all samples within 24 hours,” said Scott Snyder, Chief Marketing Officer at Solmetex.
We are able to notify dental practices in advance if a sample has exceeded the EPA standard. Now, dental practices can take corrective action immediately – days earlier than current industry standards.”
“We understand the challenges and costs dental practices face while waiting for results, or in some cases having to temporarily close their practices,” said Gene Dorf, CEO of Solmetex.
As experts in dental water for over 30 years, our goal is to provide the best products and support to ensure practices can take remedial action when necessary and continue to provide safe and effective dental care to their patients. We felt that providing Sterisil with the FASTRead test system at no charge was the right thing to do.”
The new Sterisil R2A with FASTRead technology enables dental practices to take corrective action and get ahead of potentially unsafe water pipes. If a dental practice’s sample indicates a potential issue, the practice will receive a personalized phone call to provide advance notification and support.
The Sterisil R2A with FASTRead technology is supported by DentiSafe, the only EPA-certified laboratory in dentistry. “With the technology and processes we developed with FASTRead, we are taking a significant step forward in protecting our patients and staff from preventable infections,” said J. Michael Puckett, DDS, Founder of DentiSafe.
I am delighted that Solmetex and Sterisil have partnered with us to bring this innovative technology to the dental field.”
