Pearl, a dental artificial intelligence company, recently announced a partnership with Swiss dental technology company vVARDIS to combine AI image analysis with non-invasive treatments to help dental professionals detect and treat early caries more efficiently.
The collaboration integrates Pearl’s AI radiographic image recognition platform Second Opinion with vVARDIS’s Curodont™ bionic product line. Curodont™ focuses on early caries intervention without drilling.
Both parties said that the collaboration will optimize dental clinical processes, enabling clinicians to complete diagnosis and treatment in one visit, thereby improving efficiency and patient experience.
Ophir Tanz, CEO and founder of Pearl, said: “Pearl is committed to using artificial intelligence to improve the accuracy of X-ray interpretation, enhance the standardization of dental diagnosis, and improve doctor-patient communication.
The collaboration with vVARDIS represents a global promotion of an early intervention strategy that integrates AI and non-invasive treatments, allowing patients to actively manage their oral health.”
According to reports, Pearl’s Second Opinion platform is based on artificial intelligence technology and can automatically identify early signs of caries and other oral diseases in dental X-rays, which helps to improve the objectivity and efficiency of diagnosis.
The platform can also help patients understand their oral conditions more intuitively, thereby increasing their adoption rate of treatment recommendations.
vVARDIS’s Curodont™ product provides a brushable treatment solution that can promote the natural regeneration of hydroxyapatite in early caries areas of teeth.
This method does not require drilling and can be implemented immediately after caries are detected, preserving the natural tooth structure to the greatest extent and avoiding the traditional drilling and filling process.
“This collaboration with Pearl is an important step in our mission to provide innovative solutions for early caries,” said Jeremy Thomas, President of vVARDIS North America.
This collaboration will equip dental professionals around the world with more advanced tools to identify problems earlier and restore enamel non-invasively, improving overall outcomes.”
Untreated oral disease can impact education and productivity, noted Haley and Goly Abivardi, DDS, co-founders and co-CEOs of vVARDIS.
They emphasized that the dental community has long awaited a solution that can treat subclinical caries in a single visit without drilling.
The introduction of Curodont™ represents a step toward fulfilling this expectation, while also seamlessly integrating into existing practice workflows, allowing more dentists to safely manage early caries without traditional restorative procedures.
According to vVARDIS research, up to 80% of patients will experience early caries at some stage.
The company noted that its treatment approach has been supported by more than 200 scientific publications, including real-world research results that demonstrate its safety and effectiveness.
Pearl is headquartered in Los Angeles, California, and its AI dental tools are currently approved for use in more than 120 countries around the world.
vVARDIS is headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, and was founded by a pair of sisters who are practicing dentists and entrepreneurs. They are committed to promoting the dental industry to a more modern and prevention-oriented direction.
