Millennium Dental Technologies officially unveiled its newest LANAP® AI workflow at the California Dental Association’s annual meeting in Anaheim.
The new workflow seamlessly integrates the company’s flagship PerioLase® MVP-7™ dental laser with the Zyris Isolite® Pro system, designed to help clinicians more efficiently perform LANAP protocols and other laser-assisted treatments.
According to Millennium, the LANAP AI workflow leverages the hands-free saliva suction, traction, and airway protection capabilities of the Isolite Pro system to significantly reduce chairside treatment time for patients.
The system not only ensures continuous, unobstructed access to the treatment area, but also enhances infection control by reducing airborne particles.
“With the LANAP AI workflow, clinicians trained in LANAP can treat an average of two to three additional patients per day with an additional ‘virtual pair of hands,’” said Dr. Robert H. Gregg II, Founder and President of Millennium.
This workflow is particularly useful in general dental practices with limited staffing or seeking to improve efficiency.”
The LANAP protocol is a minimally invasive treatment for moderate to severe periodontal disease that uses the PerioLase MVP-7 laser technology to regenerate periodontal and bone tissue without incisions or sutures.
The new AI workflow provides enhanced visibility of the surgical field and improves safety and clinical outcomes with the continuous suction feature of the Isolite Pro, especially in clinical settings where manpower is limited.
“We’ve combined the power of the Isolite Pro system with the LANAP protocol to provide dentists with a more precise and efficient way to care for their patients,” said Paula Mann, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Zyris.
This integration is especially important in an era when flexibility in healthcare resource allocation is increasingly critical.”
The specialized training required for LANAP treatments is provided by the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry (IALD). The five-day course includes real-life case work and clinical practice with certified instructors, and covers the use of Isolite Pro in conjunction with PerioLase MVP-7.
“Zyris shares our commitment to education and training to help clinicians master advanced skills to provide more predictable and successful outcomes for their patients,” said Dr. Dawn M. Gregg, IALD’s Director of Training.
In addition to the LANAP protocol, the PerioLase MVP-7 supports a number of laser treatment options from Millennium Dental Technologies.
These include LAPIP™ for implant lesions and failed restorations, BLAST™ for peri-implantitis and integration, and a range of soft and hard tissue surgical solutions collectively known as VAPS™.
These surgical applications cover a variety of clinical scenarios such as temporomandibular joint disorders (TMJ), hemangiomas, fibromas, pigment removal, hemostasis, and disinfection of tooth extraction wounds.
This newly launched LANAP AI workflow marks an important advancement in the field of laser dentistry, which is expected to significantly improve the efficiency, safety and patient experience of dental treatment.
