Aspen Dental recently announced the appointment of Dr. Mithila Sharma as Director of Clinical and Prosthetic Support, responsible for providing clinical guidance and support for implant and prosthetic services in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Michigan.
Dr. Sharma began her career as Chief Dentist at Aspen Dental in Danville, Illinois in 2013. She subsequently participated in practice ownership projects and became the owner of a multi-practice dental business.
According to the company, Dr. Sharma has provided treatment services to thousands of patients in the greater Chicago area and mentored many clinicians and support staff.
Dr. Sharma has also made a strong mark in clinical innovation. She has led pilots for advanced technologies such as 3D printing and digital implant systems, is one of the top 20 implant dentists in the Aspen Dental network, and has extensive expertise in the use of surgical guides.
According to Aspen Dental, Dr. Sharma’s new role will focus on supporting the company’s implant services business, providing clinical support and advice throughout the entire process from diagnosis to treatment.
She will also work closely with the medical teams in each region to drive quality improvement and ensure clinical standardization.

Dr. Sharma holds a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of California, San Francisco. In addition to her clinical and leadership roles, she is actively involved in Aspen Dental’s “Healthy Mouth Movement” charity promotion project and serves as a senior faculty advisor at the TAG Oral Care Center of Excellence in Chicago.
There, she collaborates with Dr. Sandeep Rawal, Senior Vice President of Implant Support Services, and Dr. Nassif Youssef, Director of Implant Restoration and Educational Support, to provide implant training courses to clinicians nationwide.
Dr. Sharma also serves on the board of a national professional organization dedicated to clear aligner treatments.
