Centrix announces that its founder, Dr. William B. Dragan, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025.
Dr. Dragan was a pioneer who patented the first composite resin syringe delivery system in the 1960s when he discovered there was no effective way to place this new material. He founded Centrix in the 1970s and went on to invent or co-invent 95 other patents and innovations.
Centrix wrote on its website: “During this difficult time, we have chosen to honor Dr. Dragan’s life and impact on the dental community. His legacy will live on at Centrix as one that embodies innovation, perseverance, and a commitment to change the dental world.
He impacted the lives of so many… Centrix family, colleagues, friends, and countless others around the world whose health was enhanced by his innovation, perseverance, and dedication! But most importantly, he was a father, husband, and mentor who built a company that will continue to bear his name.
Dr. Dragan passed away peacefully, deservedly, and according to his own wishes, and we will continue to honor him through our work.”
Last year, Centrix introduced a new DraganBerry flavor to its FluoroDose clear line in honor of what would have been his 90th birthday, his more than 70 years in dentistry, and the company’s more than 50 years in business.
