apZme, the leader in dental sleep medicine, announced that the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has certified additional clinics, bringing the total number of apZme-certified clinics to nearly 100 as of April 13.
Each clinic is approved to provide oral appliance therapy, an effective, non-invasive treatment for obstructive sleep apnea, to veterans seeking an alternative to CPAP therapy. apZme’s goal is to reach hundreds of VA-certified clinics by the end of the year, significantly expanding access to care for veterans across the country.
“We are honored to serve veterans, and this expansion reflects our commitment to providing life-changing sleep solutions to veterans across the country,” said Rani Ben-David, Chairman and Founder of apZme.
Oral appliance therapy offers comfort, portability, and compliance advantages over CPAP machines. apZme’s network ensures that more veterans have access to trusted dental professionals trained in sleep medicine.
apZme clinics have partnered with Millennium Sleep Lab, a national provider of home sleep testing, to provide veterans with diagnostics in the comfort of their own homes.
“This milestone is about providing Veterans with convenient and effective sleep care,” said Jeff Schultz, CEO of Millennium Sleep Labs. “Our at-home test allows Veterans to get a diagnosis without long travel or wait times and receive treatment directly through an apZme clinic.”
apZme’s certified clinics are supported through clinical education, billing, and VA coordination. apZme is working with partners to build a network centered around patients and long-term health.
“Our mission has always been to empower dentists to provide life-changing sleep solutions,” said Dr. Tom Gossis, a retired colonel with 21 years of U.S. Army service and apZme’s Director of Clinical Dentistry. “Many of the Veterans I treat suffer from PTSD, depression, and anxiety.
These symptoms are often exacerbated by wearing a CPAP machine. Expanding access to care will make a real difference for Veterans with sleep apnea.”
Veterans seeking oral appliance treatment should speak with their VA provider and request a referral to a certified apZme clinic.
