The Alliance for Oral Health Across Borders (AOHAB) is proud to join the American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry (AADMD) for its annual conference, which will be held at the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa in Phoenix, Arizona, June 5-8, 2025.
The conference will bring together graduates of AOHAB’s revolutionary Global Oral Health Student Leadership Program from around the world for an inspiring and meaningful weekend. It will be a meeting of the minds, bringing together the medical and dental communities to explore how to better coordinate intellectual and developmental health care.

Cross-border Oral Health Alliance Participation AADMD The impact of the conference resonated deeply with their faculty mentors:
Dr. Margaret Wandela, AOHAB faculty mentor and lecturer from Uganda, shared, “This is why we formed the Cross-Border Oral Health Alliance – to build and expand this network… I actually feel very inspired to be a part of something like this.”
Dr. Marion Bergman added, “This program continues to grow stronger every year thanks to the amazing team of mentors that AOHAB has assembled.”
Dr. Joseph R. Greenberg, AOHAB mentor and lecturer from Philadelphia, recalled, “The AADMD conferences I attended as an AOHAB group member were amazing. The warmth and camaraderie displayed by our student leaders, alumni, and faculty far exceeded expectations.
The programs held by AADMD have inspired empathy for the causes they are engaged in and have influenced our own programs to assist people with intellectual disabilities. This has definitely made our international network stronger and deeper!”
These reflections affirm the value of shared vision, cross-border mentorship, and the lasting bonds formed through collaborative leadership in global oral health.
