Established in 1996, Broxburn Dental is a three-site, predominantly NHS practice with a growing database of over 10,400 registered patients.
Following a confidential sales process with Joel Mannix of Christie & Co, and financing raised through Stephen McConalogue of Christie Finance, the practice was sold to sisters Maria Guillermina Landivar Taborga and Vivian Carolina Landivar Taborga, who plan to continue to provide the high-quality service for which the practice is renowned.
Maria Guillermina Landivar Taborga, the new owner of Broxburn Dental, said: “Carolina and I both grew up, studied and graduated as dentists in Madrid over 20 years ago. We then worked as general practitioners (GDPs) in Madrid and across the UK.
We settled and raised a family in Edinburgh, where we also studied for several postgraduate degrees over the years. Acquiring a practice together felt like a natural step in our personal and professional development.
We found Broxburn Dental perfectly suited to our needs and see it as the ideal foundation for our future practice. Our aim is to help Broxburn Dental reach its full potential in the coming years and provide a wider range of high-quality services to our diverse patient base.”
Joel Mannix, head of dental at Christie & Co, said: “We had been discussing his retirement plans with the previous owner for several years and are delighted to have concluded a transaction with two excellent first-time buyers. This reflects the current state of the Scottish dental market, with independent operators and first-time buyers dominating.”
Stephen Mannix, associate director at Christie Finance McConalogue added: “I am very pleased to have secured financing for another first-time homebuyer. This transaction was not possible without the teamwork of Joel and I, despite many challenges along the way. The dental market remains strong in 2024, allowing many doctors to purchase their first practices. With interest rates falling again, I expect this trend to continue into 2025.”
The price of the Broxbourne Dental Practice was not disclosed.
