Dental professionals across the country are invited to join the 2025 Share Your Smile campaign. Created by America’s Tooth Fairy, the campaign aims to raise public awareness of the importance of oral health and remove barriers that prevent millions of people from getting the dental care they need.
Coinciding with Oral Health Month, the Share Your Smile campaign provides free educational materials and advocacy tools to healthcare providers, educators and community organizations. For the third consecutive year, the campaign is sponsored exclusively by Sun Life Dental, which includes DentaQuest, the nation’s largest Medicaid dental benefits administrator.
Sun Life Dental serves 35 million members nationwide and provides direct care support to patients through a growing network of dental offices in underserved communities across the country.
Launched in 2023, the Share Your Smile campaign has grown into a global movement. Last year alone, more than 200 oral health advocates used these resources to educate more than 105,000 children and their caregivers in 44 states and eight other countries.
“Dental professionals play a critical role in helping families understand the importance of oral health and how disparities impact millions of children,” said Jill Malmgren, Executive Director of Tooth Fairy America.
Share Your Smile makes it easy for providers and advocates to share this message and spark interest in dental careers among teens so they can be part of the solution,” said Jill Malmgren, Executive Director of Tooth Fairy America.
According to the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), more than 57 million people in the U.S. live in areas with a lack of dental providers. These gaps disproportionately impact people of color, residents of rural or remote areas, Native communities, immigrant families, and individuals with special health care needs.
The Share Your Smile campaign offers:
Free downloadable educational materials for students and families
Social media toolkits with pre-written posts and graphics for oral health advocacy
Resources highlighting dental career paths to inspire the next generation of dental providers
A kid’s joke contest, beloved by kids ages 12 and under, that encourages fun engagement and sharing smiles
Since launching on June 1 of this year, participants have pledged to provide campaign materials to more than 108,000 children and their caregivers.
Sun Life Dental is committed to expanding access to dental care, especially in communities that need it most,” said David Healy, President of Sun Life US Dental, which includes DentaQuest. “We are honored to continue to support the American Tooth Fairy and the Share Your Smile campaign to help people improve their oral and overall health.”
Dental professionals, educators and health advocates are encouraged to download and use the free materials during summer enrichment programs, camps, clinics and community outreach events.
