Solventum, a company known for its advanced dental composites and restorative innovations, today announced a partnership with SprintRay, a leader in chairside 3D printing technology.
The collaboration aims to provide dental practices with a fast and efficient way to create 3D printed crowns, inlays, onlays and other restorations directly in the office, improving treatment efficiency and patient experience.
The core goal of this research and development agreement is to develop durable and high-quality same-day restoration solutions that strive to meet the standards of traditional multi-visit processes in dental laboratories.
By combining Solventum’s expertise in material science with SprintRay’s chairside printing technology, the two companies aim to launch the first permanent 3D printed crown that can be created instantly in the office.
Solventum Dental Solutions (formerly 3M Health Care)’s current core products include Filtek™ Easy Match Universal Restorative, Filtek™ Matrix, Scotchbond™ Universal and RelyX™ Universal Cement.
These products embody Solventum’s innovative approach to combining high-performance materials with data science. SprintRay provides a complete chairside 3D printing system that supports an integrated restoration process from scanning, design to printing.
Karim Mansour, President of Solventum Dental Solutions, said: “Imagine that dentists can make crowns that can be used for decades in just a few minutes.
This simplification of the process will greatly improve treatment outcomes and patient experience, while reducing office stay time and overall treatment costs.”
This collaboration not only focuses on the research and development of permanent 3D printed crowns, but also includes key restorations such as inlays and onlays, marking a new stage in the restoration dental process towards a more efficient and immediate stage.
Amir Mansouri, CEO of SprintRay, added: “Our goal is to provide high-quality, economical and practical oral restoration solutions worldwide.
This collaboration with Solventum represents our firm commitment to improving global oral health and promoting major advances in the field of restorative dentistry with immediate use technology.”
Through this collaboration, Solventum and SprintRay plan to jointly promote the modernization of the dental restoration process, enabling patients to complete treatment in one visit, thereby achieving faster, more economical and more comfortable dental services.
