Delta Dental in Washington has announced a partnership with Dentistry. One, a virtual dental care platform developed by MouthWatch, LLC, to provide 24/7 virtual dental services to its more than 4 million members.
The partnership allows members of Delta Dental in Washington to enjoy live video consultations, asynchronous photo evaluations, and the AI-based SmileScan™ oral health tracking tool through Dentistry.One.
Members can also access a national network of dental professionals, including eight dentists and dental care consultants in Washington state, to receive personalized guidance and on-site care coordination when necessary. The service supports evening and weekend emergency appointments to increase member flexibility.
After the virtual visit, Dentistry. One will send the member’s oral health report to their preferred dentist. If the member does not have a regular dentist, the platform will help find a local dentist and schedule an in-person appointment to ensure continuity of care.
Brant Herman, founder and CEO of MouthWatch and Dentistry. One, said this partnership represents the future of dental care and is committed to creating a convenient, seamless, patient-centric service experience.
He emphasized that the platform not only increased member engagement, but also expanded the coverage of medical services.
Diane Oakes, chief mission officer of Delta Dental in Washington, pointed out that this move reflects the company’s long-term commitment to innovation and oral health equity, with a special focus on rural areas with limited resources, and strives to achieve the goal of “oral health for all”.
Dr. Derek Weigand, a dentist at Dentistry. One, said that through online consultations, the team can detect potential oral problems early and arrange face-to-face consultations in a timely manner, which is especially important for chronic disease groups such as diabetics and pregnant women. This proactive care method will significantly improve their health.
