3Shape is launching a suite of new digital solutions at the International Dental Show (IDS), including the TRIOS 6 intraoral scanner, TRIOS Dx Plus diagnostic software, and the DentalHealth patient app, designed to enhance dental diagnostic capabilities, optimize patient communication, and improve overall treatment processes.
The new TRIOS 6 scanner combines hyperspectral imaging technology to simultaneously capture white light, fluorescence, and near-infrared data, providing dental professionals with detection support for five key oral health conditions: surface caries, interproximal caries (expected to be online by the end of 2025), plaque, tooth wear, and gum recession.
The scanner is equipped with 3Shape’s patented ScanAssist intelligent alignment system and sensory feedback technology, making the scanning process smoother and more accurate.
Compared with the previous generation product, TRIOS 6 has a 110% increase in image resolution and a lightweight design, weighing only 308 grams (10.8 ounces), which does not require frequent calibration, greatly improving the convenience of clinical operation.
Jacob Paulsen, CEO of 3Shape, pointed out at the press conference: “Just as we launched the world’s first wireless oral scanner in 2017, this time, the combination of TRIOS 6, TRIOS Dx Plus and DentalHealth application will once again change the way dentists work.”
TRIOS Dx Plus is a diagnostic software designed specifically for TRIOS 6 and is currently awaiting FDA approval for clinical use in the United States.
The software can convert scan data into visual health information, allowing doctors and patients to view and track the five major problems of oral health on the screen together, achieving a more engaging diagnostic experience.
As an important part of this digital workflow, the DentalHealth application provides patients with convenient remote access services.
Users can view their own scan data and diagnosis results through mobile devices, and can also obtain practical oral health care knowledge and personalized suggestions to encourage them to actively participate in oral health management.
Paulson added: “Although dental technology continues to advance, trust between people remains at the core.
By empowering patients with more information and a sense of participation, we not only strengthen the connection between dentists and patients, but also have the potential to improve patient compliance and satisfaction, while helping dental practitioners expand their business.”
The release of this integrated system heralds a new stage in digital dentistry with “intelligent diagnosis + personalized interaction” as the core.
