Digital dental lab Dandy has launched a new feature designed to enhance real-time collaboration between dental offices and lab technicians. The feature upgrades Dandy’s chairside care and case management software, allowing users to review and plan dental treatment plans through interactive video calls.
The core of this upgrade is to optimize the communication process between dentists and technicians. In the past, this process usually relied on traditional methods such as email, phone and paper documents. Now, through this platform, dentists and technicians can collaborate as efficiently as if they were in the same space.
The highlight of the new feature is “Real-time Design Review”, which allows dentists and technicians to view and manipulate 3D case models together in a video call. Dentists can directly consult with technicians, ask questions, suggest changes, and confirm all details before the design enters the production stage.
Dr. Alexander Rabkin of Westwood Dental Partners shared his experience: “I recently used Dandy’s real-time design review feature and it was amazing! This is the first time I’ve seen a lab where I can review cases with my lab technician in real time.
It was great to see the whole process in person – the technology is very advanced, the scheduling is very smooth, and the customer service is amazing.”
Dentists can choose to start the video consultation immediately or schedule it for a later time. In addition to routine case reviews, Dandy also provides dedicated consultations for complex restorations and implant planning, even with surgical specialists.
With shared digital CAD models, cases can be designed in the pre-production stage, reducing errors, improving treatment outcomes, and ensuring better care for patients.
“We are committed to providing excellent results and service to our customers. Real-time video collaboration is part of this commitment and gives dentists access to professional support at critical moments.
By streamlining the collaboration process and improving efficiency and accuracy, we are helping dental practices improve the quality of care and drive business growth.”
