Dr. Kevin Patterson, an esteemed oral and maxillofacial surgeon, has assumed the presidency of the Colorado Dental Association (CDA), bringing with him a wealth of experience and a commitment to advancing public oral health.
A graduate of the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Patterson further honed his skills at The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, where he completed his training in oral and maxillofacial surgery and medical school. With nearly three decades of experience, Dr. Patterson has been serving the community of Colorado since 1998.
Dr. Patterson’s leadership extends beyond his clinical practice, as he has been actively involved in organized dentistry since 2013. He has held officer positions for prominent dental societies including the Colorado Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (CSOMS), the Metro Denver Dental Society (MDDS), and the CDA. Notably, he has served as vice president and president-elect of the CDA before stepping into his current role as president. His tenure is poised to prioritize the execution of the CDA’s strategic plan, with a steadfast dedication to supporting the diverse needs of its members while championing public oral health initiatives.
Beyond his professional commitments, Dr. Patterson demonstrates a profound commitment to philanthropy. He actively engages with organizations such as Kids in Need of Dentistry (KIND) and the Dental Lifeline Network, providing essential dental care to individuals in need. Additionally, Dr. Patterson generously volunteers his time at the annual dental clinic organized by the Colorado Mission of Mercy.
In addition to his clinical and leadership roles, Dr. Patterson contributes to dental education as an associate professor at the CU School of Dental Medicine, where he is involved in the Department of Surgical Dentistry and General Practice Residency Program. His dedication to shaping the future of dentistry is further evidenced by his membership on the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine Leadership Council.
Dr. Patterson’s commitment to advancing oral health extends beyond the local community, as he serves on the board of the JP Opioid Interaction Awareness Alliance and provides advisory support to Physicians for Responsible Opioid Prescribing.
